English Habitat is an online language learning platform. It is a community of people from all around the world who are learning English together.

English Habitat is for people who want to learn English. It is also for English teachers and tutors, and parents of children who are learning English. Really, it is open to everyone.

How will you help me to learn English?

You learn English through self-study. English Habitat creates an exciting environment for you filled with learning content and other learners. You build your own learning journey, step by step, at your own pace. Along the way, we help guide you through it.

Is English Habitat free?

Yes.

What skills can I learn?

You can learn all the skills needed to become a competent and confident English speaker. You decide. The library of contents on English Habitat covers all the basic skills such as speaking, reading, listening, writing, pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar.

How long does it take to learn English?

English Habitat is self-paced. You can significantly improve your English skills in several months. It may take several years of practicing your skills to get good enough to study or work in English and to build close relationships with English speakers.

Can English Habitat give me a certificate?

We don’t certify your ability. However, English Habitat members take external tests like TOEFL and IELTS all the time and they do very well at them, unlocking many opportunities.

How do I get started?

Sign up and set up your member profile. Come and introduce yourself in the Forum. If you’re a beginner, start with basic “A1” level material. Get a feel for the curriculum: what learning content is available. Jump in and let your curiosity guide you. If you’re already an intermediate learner, we still recommend starting with the basics, but you can skip to whatever area you wish.
